NORMAN BLAKE Interview (Starry Nites Festival)
“Smells Like Teenage Fanclub Spirit”

On Sunday, March 19th I had the pleasure of interviewing Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub. The setting was bucolic, sitting outside at the Live Oak Campgrounds in Santa Barbara, California, at Day 2 of the first ever Starry Nites Festival. There was a certain, frenetic energy in the air, as various musicians were either preparing to go onto (or depart from) one of the three venue stages. The rejuvenating air of Spring filled and nourished our lungs as the sweet sound of music satiated our ears’ aural cravings.
Having just seen Teenage Fanclub perform two days earlier at the Teragram Ballroom in LA (see our full and extensive concert review here), I was eager to chat with Norman Blake about the current tour and his band’s rightful place in the pantheon of great Glaswegian bands.
