This week I had the chance to sit down for an in-depth interview with Steve Kilbey of The Church at the Catalyst Club in Santa Cruz, California to talk about the band’s highly anticipated upcoming release (entitled “Man Woman Life Death Infinity“), his early influences and the challenges of running a rock and roll band in an egalitarian, democratic fashion with so many diverse constituents. We also commiserated about the sometimes difficult and ubiquitous juvenile right of passage of being shamed by judgmental record shop clerks for one’s innocent album purchases back in the 20th Century (before modern digital music consumption safely ensured one’s anonymity!).
