“In The Passenger Seat With Swervedriver”

I recently had the chance to sit down with Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge from Swervedriver (on the final date of their U.S. tour at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles CA. Our in-depth conversation covered a wide range of topics, including their unique crowdfunding campaign to support their new album, their ambitiousness in performing both of their classic albums “Raise” and “Mezcal Head” during the tour and their memories of being on the road and collaborating with fellow musicians. I was eager to chat with them about their last studio album (2015’s stellar “I Wasn’t Born To Lose You“), which was one of my favorite albums of the year. Lastly, I also had the chance to ask Adam and Jimmy about the importance of distinguishing one’s band name from others that have dangerously similar names (in the eyes of the general public) so as to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.
